Before a child starts
We know that starting nursery is a big moment — for you and your child — and we want it to feel as calm, happy and reassuring as possible from the very beginning.
Before your child joins us, we gently encourage families to:
Visit the nursery together
This gives your child the chance to explore, play, and begin to feel comfortable in their new surroundings, with you right there beside them.
Meet their Key
Your child’s Key Person will be a familiar, caring face who gets to know them really well. This first meeting is all about starting that special relationship and helping your child feel safe and settled.
Tell us all about your child
You know your child best, and we love hearing about what makes them them — their routines, favourite things, little quirks, and anything that helps them feel happy and secure.
meet other families (where possible)
If other children are starting at a similar time, we’ll try to create opportunities for you to meet. It’s a lovely way to begin building friendships and feel part of our nursery community.
We also offer gentle settling-in sessions, where your child can get to know us gradually, in their own time. There’s no rush — we follow your child’s lead and support them every step of the way.
From the very first visit, our aim is simple — to make everyone feel welcome, supported, and completely at home.
